About Us
The founding of the Emirates Sustainability Bureau in 2023 demonstrates a deep commitment to environmental sustainability in the UAE, in line with national green initiatives and conservation efforts. With the global spotlight on COP 28, Sheikh Abdulaziz bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Tourism, leads the bureau in honoring Sheikh Zayed's legacy of environmental preservation and aims to extend these efforts across the GCC through the Gulf Sustainability Bureau (GSB).
The Gulf Sustainability Bureau plays a crucial role in uniting major travel, technology , corporates, and government organizations, even those that may compete, under a common goal of sustainability in the UAE and across the GCC. By providing neutral governance and fostering collaboration, the bureau aims to ensure that accurate and reliable sustainability information becomes more accessible, enabling consumers to make better-informed travel decisions.

Mission
The mission of the Gulf Sustainability Bureau (GSB) is to lead the advancement of sustainability across industries in travel the UAE and GCC by promoting responsible practices, fostering collaboration, and ensuring transparency. GSB is dedicated to celebrating the transition to a more sustainable future through credible information, eco-friendly innovation, and alignment with global sustainability goals.
Approach
The Emirates Sustainability Bureau (ESB) and Gulf Sustainability Bureau (GSB) define sustainable travel and tourism through criteria that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Our approach is grounded in four key pillars of sustainability: 1) managing for sustainability 2) social responsibility 3) cultural and community engagement, and 4) environmental stewardship. These pillars ensure a holistic approach to promoting sustainable practices within the travel and tourism industries.
